Our team is growing! We need a Tax Manage r to proactively manage th e ir book of business and provide mentorship and peer support to upskill the junior staff.

Tax Manager Key Responsibilities

#1) Proactively manage client relationships to prepare and deliver/sign tax returns in your book of business .

Success Metrics

• Maintaining c lient budget with an 80% realization
• Less than 3% of your returns need to be amended
• 95% of your returns are completed two weeks prior to deadline
• Retain at least 98.5% of your client's quarter-over-quarter

#2) R eview tax returns, provide review notes, and provide training/mentorship to entry-level accountants .

Success Metrics

• Complete 20 - 25 hours per week reviewing and managing of client work
• Provide 2 - 4 hours of training and mentorship to entry level accountants based off review notes per week
  • Measure of Success: Less than 5% of returns reviewed need to be reworked after final review

#3) Provide miscellaneous tax services to clients upon request e.g. letters, payroll, sales tax returns, etc.

Success Metrics

• 98% of miscellaneous tasks completed by due date
• Succinctly respond to clients within 24 hours (one business day)
• No more than one client outreach per month after no sig n of follow up email s

Ideal Tax Manager Characteristics:

• 5 + years of experience working in a small US public tax or accounting firm
• Enrolled Agent or CPA required
• Prefers to be s uper organized in any situation
• Acts proactively because waiting around is wasting time
• Friends and family refer to you for all things numbers
• Enjoys giving feedback because it's fun to see others improve and learn
• Hustles to get work done well and on time
