Job Description – Yardman / Batchman

Position Overview:

Ruach Resources is seeking a dedicated and reliable Yardman/Batchman to support daily ready-mix production and maintain an organized, safe, and efficient yard. This is not an office job—you will be hands-on, operating equipment, preparing materials, maintaining the yard and batch plant, assisting the Ready Mix Plant Operator, and learning batching procedures to serve as a backup operator. Key Responsibilities:

Loader & Skid Steer Operations

• Stockpile and push up materials to maintain organized, accessible aggregate piles.

• Clean and shape yard areas and stockpiles to ensure efficient traffic flow and safety.

• Keep grounds smooth and maintained for truck and equipment movement.

• Load outbound trucks accurately and safely.

• Unload inbound trucks and material deliveries.

• Clean out loader and skid steer buckets daily or as needed.

• Perform snow removal during winter operations to maintain safe access.

Plant & Yard Cleanliness

• Maintain a clean and organized yard and batch plant environment.

• Perform housekeeping duties including sweeping, shoveling, washing areas, and removing debris.

• Ensure all equipment and workspaces are kept in safe and optimal condition.

Equipment Maintenance

• Grease loader and skid steer according to maintenance schedules.

• Grease ready-mix batch plant components as directed.

• Assist with troubleshooting and minor repairs; recognize when to report issues requiring further attention.

Concrete Production Support

• Assist the RM Plant Operator in day-to-day concrete production tasks.

• Help stage materials, manage yard flow, and support driver coordination.

Training Toward Backup Batchman Role

Learn batching operations to serve as a backup operator, including:

• Computer Use: Operating batching software, plant controls, and production reporting.

• Phone Use: Communicating with drivers, dispatch, customers, and suppliers as needed.

• Driver Supervision: Coordinating yard traffic, staging trucks, and supporting efficient loading and delivery schedules.

Wise Time Management

• Prioritize tasks to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.

• Use company time efficiently and maintain steady workflow throughout the day.

Teamwork & Collaboration

• Work closely with plant operators, drivers, and quality control personnel to ensure smooth operations.

• Communicate clearly and professionally to maintain efficient production and yard safety.

• Support team members as needed and contribute to a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience with loaders, skid steers, yard work, or ready-mix operations preferred. Training provided for the right candidate.

• Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to grease equipment, perform minor maintenance, and recognize mechanical issues.

• Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain clean stockpiles, load accurately, and follow batching and yard procedures.

• Problem Solving: Strong ability to identify and address issues with equipment, materials, or yard operations.

• Communication: Clear communication with drivers, plant operators, and team members.

• Safety Commitment: Demonstrated commitment to safety and proper equipment handling.

• Reliability: Valid driver's license and dependable transportation; strong punctuality and work ethic.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with exposure to all weather conditions.

• Willingness to work overtime and weekends during peak production demands.

• Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, climb equipment, and perform labor tasks safely.

• Comfortable working around heavy equipment, concrete trucks, and plant machinery.
